Born and raised in the Lower Mainland of Southern BC, Krystina Lynn Photography now calls Dawson Creek in Northern BC, home.
There are two things outside of family I am very passionate about in life. Horses, and photography.
I first picked up a "real" camera a couple years out of high school. My sister bought a Canon Rebel, and asked me to take pictures of her at her horse shows. The rest is pretty much history. I now shoot with my own Canon 40D, and have a small collection of lenses to chose from. I have also come to know some very gracious individuals within both the horse, and photography industry, that have openly shared their knowledge and experience with me. And in some cases, even their equipment. Without these folks, I don't know that I would have a lot of the knowledge I do today.
As far as formal education goes, I am mostly self taught. I took a course through our local continuing education programs when I first realized just how obsessed I was becoming with photography. It helped me gain a full understanding of my camera, and how it works. I've also taken a few workshops with various photographers to expand my knowledge and experience, and plan to continue to attend workshops and courses throughout my journey behind the camera.
Natural light and lifestyle photography are what I specialize in. I think being that I started off with so much (and continue to do) horse show photography, that I have a deep appreciation for the use of natural light and using the atmosphere you have available to you. But don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoy learning to use flash and studio lighting as well! That is one thing I love about photography, you NEVER stop learning.
