Life Without a Leash

A couple weeks back I was approached by a local dog trainer, one with whom I had been a client of earlier this year, to shadow one of the class walks at a local park, and capture a little bit about what the group has to offer.  This past weekend the poor weather finally held off, and off I went to the days location.  I'll admit it was a challenge to capture so many moving pieces in a way that didn't feel too busy or that made no sense!

There were aprox 13 dogs in attendance for that days walk, as well as aprox 16 people accompanying them all.  The focus of the regularly scheduled walk is to socialize the dogs, as well as work on some general training that is covered in other classes put on by the trainer.  The group typically starts off on leash, and gradually works towards off-leash freedom, while still maintaining respect and obedience to the handler.  They even get a little play time!  Some dogs never make it off leash for some walks, others are off from start to finish.  It all depends on the dogs mental state and level of training. Everyone had a different goal they are working towards.  It's a broad group of all different sizes, ages, breeds, and levels.  (both canine, and human!)

Here are a handful of my favorite images from the day!  Please contact  Life Without A Leash if you are interested in learning more about, or being a part of this wonderful group!
