Old Baldy Ranch

For those of you who have been following me for awhile now, you might remember this contest I held back in February right around Family Day.  In an effort to promote western heritage and agriculture in the Peace Country I asked folks to nominate an influential western heritage family in the North.  The response was overwhelming and the entries I received were fantastic!  I never thought I’d enjoy reading about these families and what they have meant to the folks in this area as I did during this contest.

The winner was selected by a random draw, pulling the winning families name out of a hat.  And I must say I was so pleased to see that Gary Moore and his family were the lucky winners!  And the lovely woman to nominate this family was Colleen Wangler. While we are still trying to coordinate the Moore clan for their photo shoot, (there are quite a few of them, and they’re spread across a couple provinces now!) I was lucky enough to head over to Colleen and Aaron’s home to award and complete the mini session that Colleen won for her nomination getting drawn!

The subject matter Colleen chose for her mini shoot?  Well, her horse Ty of course!  And what a handsome fella he is!  (AW Blue Fire N TE is currently standing at stud at Colleen and Aaron's farm, Old Baldy Ranch, and is currently booking breedings for the 2018 season!  Follow the link to their website here!)

Ty was a perfect gentleman for his photo shoot, and Colleen was a hoot as always!  It was so hard for us to pick our favorite shots from this session!  And unknown to me, I was in for a little surprise afterwards, Colleen later informed me that one of our shots was selected to be the cover photo for Saddle Up magazines September issue!

Here are just a few of the awesome shots we got out at Old Baldy, I cant wait to work with this crew again!
